The Memphis Grizzlies extended their winning streak to two games, recording a 116-110 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday (PH time) at Target Center.

Jaren Jackson Jr. stepped up in the absence of star player Ja Morant, who missed the contest because of an ankle injury.

Jackson scored a game-high 28 points, including a pull-up jumper with 47.7 seconds left that gave Memphis a 111-103 lead. He shot 10-for-18 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Jackson also had 12 rebounds to record his first double-double of the season.

The Grizzlies used a balanced offensive attack to beat the Wolves, with four other Memphis players scoring double figures. Jock Landale matched Jackson’s double-double performance, posting 20 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

It was a disappointing defeat for the Wolves, who had their two-game winning streak snapped.

Julius Randle led the way for Minnesota, scoring 21 points in a losing effort. The Wolves missed the services of Anthony Edwards, who was sidelined with a foot injury.

The Grizzlies improved to 13-14 with the win, while the Wolves fell to 17-10.
