The Western Conference’s eighth-seeded Golden State Warriors came away with a 132-125 road win over the Charlotte Hornets on New Year’s Day at the Spectrum Center.
Golden State turned the game on its head with a fourth-quarter rally after Charlotte edged ahead 100-98 at the end of the third. Brandin Podziemski buried a timely three with 8:23 remaining to give the Warriors a five-point cushion, 111-106.

Despite another Charlotte fightback behind Brandon Miller, who tallied his new season-high 33 markers, the Warriors maintained control through back-to-back threes from Draymond Green.
Jimmy Butler shot two freebies to secure Golden State's 18th win of the season.
Steph Curry collected 26 points, four assists, and two rebounds in 32 minutes of play, while Podziemski came up with 19 markers. Butler put up another 19 markers, seven assists, and five rebounds, while Green flirted with a triple-double through a 10-point, 12-assist, and eight-rebound contribution.
For Charlotte, rookie Kon Knueppel had another solid performance of 20 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.
