The Portland Trail Blazers survived a back-and-forth battle, securing 115–110 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday (PH time) at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
With the win, the Blazers extended their winning streak to two games while snapping the Spurs' own two-game run. San Antonio was once again without star big man Victor Wembanyama due to injury.
Both teams traded blows in a tight second half until, with 49 seconds remaining, Blazers star Deni Avdija drilled a clutch three-pointer to give Portland a four-point cushion.
After Caleb Love split a pair of free throws, the Blazers closed out the five-point win.
Avdija delivered a stellar all-around performance, finishing with a triple-double of 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Donovan Clingan had a career night, scoring a personal-best 24 points to go with 12 rebounds.
For the Spurs, center Luke Kornet led the team with 23 points, and Julian Champagnie added a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
The Blazers will host the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, while the Spurs will visit the Memphis Grizzlies the day after.
