Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka announced that center Alperen Şengün is expected to miss approximately 10 to 14 days after suffering an ankle injury during Wednesday night’s game.
Udoka said the team is focused on reducing the swelling and pain while restoring Şengün’s mobility, adding that the current timeline projects a return in about two weeks.
The injury occurred just 64 seconds into the Rockets’ 110–104 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Şengün twisted his ankle after stepping on Mavericks center Daniel Gafford’s foot while contesting a rebound. Play was stopped immediately, and Şengün was able to walk to the locker room under his own power for further evaluation.

Şengün has been in the midst of a career-best season, averaging 21.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game—career highs in both scoring and assists. His absence will pose a significant challenge for the Rockets, who currently sit fifth in the Western Conference with a 21–11 record.
