The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade four-time NBA All-Star Trae Young to the Washington Wizards in exchange for veteran guard CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.
The deal marks a franchise-altering move for both teams. Atlanta parts ways with its long-time centerpiece after years of building around Young, who has been the face of the Hawks since being drafted in 2018.
Washington, meanwhile, lands a proven floor general in Young, who has emerged as one of the league’s most prolific playmakers and scorers.
On the flipside, the Hawks acquire McCollum, who brings veteran leadership and postseason experience, along with sharpshooter Corey Kispert. This trade signals that Atlanta is taking a sharp turn to build around breakout star Jalen Johnson.
