Alex Eala and Iva Jovic qualified for the semifinals of the 2026 ASB Classic via walkover after their quarterfinal opponents, Jesika Maleckova and Renata Zarazua, pulled out of the tournament on Thursday.
Eala and Jovic booked a place in the quarters after beating veteran tennis players Venus Williams and Elina Svitolina 7-6 (7), 6-1 in their opening doubles match last Monday at ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand.
Eala and Jovic, who are both still in contention in the ASB Classic women’s singles event, will next face the third-seeded Chinese pair of Yifan Xu and Zhaoxuan Yang in the semis this coming Saturday.
