The Charlotte Hornets recorded a major upset on Friday (PH time), securing a 135-117 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Miles Bridges combined for 81 points for the Hornets, who improved their overall record to 15-26.
 
The game swung in the Hornets’ favor during the second quarter, with Charlotte outscoring Los Angeles 34-16 to build a nine-point lead at the half. The Hornets didn’t let up in the second half, scoring 71 points in the third and fourth quarters to hand the Lakers their fourth loss in the last five games.
 
Ball posted a monster double-double with 30 points and 11 assists. Miller and Bridges also contributed, scoring 26 and 25 points, respectively.

Luka Doncic scored a game-high 39 points for the Lakers, who fell to 24-15. LeBron James added 29 points for the Lakers, who will next face the Portland Trail Blazers on the road on Sunday, January 18.
