TNT mounted a furious 50-44 turnaround to erase San Miguel's 14-point lead in their PBA 50 Philippine Cup Finals series this Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Chot Reyes-coached squad finally grabbed the upper hand when Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser scored on a layup at the 3:39 mark. The lead change was set in motion earlier by Henry Galinato, whose basket tied the contest at 38-all and sparked TNT’s takeover.
Tropang 5G came out firing in the second period, unleashing an 8-0 run to cut San Miguel’s lead to 27-33. It turned out to be TNT’s strongest quarter of the game yet, as it outgunned the Beermen, 31-11.
Calvin Oftana spearheaded the Tropang 5G resurgence with 13 points, while Jordan Heading had 10, and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser chipped in nine markers.
Mo Tautuaa continued to lead the Beermen in scoring with 13 markers, with June Mar Fajardo close behind at 12 points. Don Trollano scored five while Marcio Lassiter had four.
