Alex Eala’s Philippine Women’s Open campaign came to a disappointing end last Thursday, losing to Colombia’s Camila Osorio in straight sets in their quarterfinal clash at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

The grind never stops for Eala, though, as she will fly right away to the United Arab Emirates on Friday morning for the WTA 500 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open. It is the first tournament in the WTA’s Middle East swing, with the tennis event set to take place from February 1 to 7 at the Zayed Sports City International Tennis Centre.

Eala will compete in the main draw of the Abu Dhabi Open after she was granted a direct entry by tournament organizers. All eyes will be on her health condition, though, as she dealt with a right thigh issue during the Philippine Women’s Open.
