Tai Bundit has been officially appointed as the new Alas Pilipinas women head coach after getting the green light from the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) board.
PNVF president Tonyboy Liao announced that the decorated Thai tactician will usher in a new era of the Philippine women’s volleyball team after their meeting on Thursday.
“Coach Tai was appointed last night as the head coach of the women’s Alas team by the PNVF executive board,” Liao said.
Bundit already went to work on Thursday, scouting talents at the Premier Volleyball League games at FilOil EcoOil Centre.
He was seen talking to Cignal star Erika Santos, who scored 18 points to beat Choco Mucho.
Bundit has created a legacy in Philippine volleyball when he steered the Alyssa Valdez-led squad to two historic University Athletic Association of the Philippines championships and also won a couple of PVL championships with Creamline in the pre-professional era. He also won a Spikers’ Turf title with Criss Cross last year.
It’s a homecoming for Bundit as he was a deputy of coach Roger Gorayeb in 2015 when the Philippine women’s volleyball team returned to international competition.
