The 22-year-old Filipino-Italian secured a quota spot for the Milano-Cortina Games, becoming the first Filipino to qualify and the fifth alpine skier to represent the country at the Olympics. He is listed 67th out of 81 athletes tackling the challenging 1,448-meter Stelvio course, according to Olympics.com.
Ceccarelli is one of two Filipino athletes competing in the Winter Olympics, joining the historic appearance of the Philippines’ first-ever female Winter Olympian, Tallulah Proulx, who will also compete in Alpine skiing events.
