The Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) has formally introduced a new initiative called “URCC: Fight Club,” signaling what appears to be a fresh push for the pioneering mixed martial arts organization founded by Alvin Aguilar.
URCC, established in 2002 as the first professional MMA promotion in both the Philippines and Southeast Asia, released a series of teasers across social media, including its official Facebook page, confirming that URCC: Fight Club will debut on March 10 at Octopus Makati.
Aside from the date and venue, no further information has been provided. Ticket availability and the bout lineup remain undisclosed as of this writing.

The introduction of URCC: Fight Club comes after a relatively quiet stretch for the organization. URCC staged only one event in 2025, headlined by flyweight champion Eros Baluyot, who successfully defended his title against Rene Catalan Jr.
Prior to that, URCC had regained consistent activity between 2022 and 2024 following disruptions caused by the global pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
While the promotion has not disclosed the exact structure of URCC: Fight Club, the announcement has generated speculation within the local MMA community.
Some observers have raised comparisons to Dynasty Fight Club, a short-lived combat sports concept held in Baclaran, Parañaque in 2024. That series featured nightly matches in MMA, kickboxing, and boxing inside a bar setting and ran from the summer of that year until June before abruptly ceasing operations without a public explanation.
URCC has not indicated whether the new project shares similarities with that format.

Based on promotional materials released so far, URCC: Fight Club appears to emphasize athlete development and grassroots competition.
The organization has historically played a key role in building Filipino talent, serving as an early platform for several fighters who later achieved international success.
Among the most notable names to emerge from URCC are Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon, and Honorio Banario. All three went on to become world champions under ONE Championship.
