Minnesota came out firing, racing to an early surge and building a game-high 18-point lead in the second quarter. The Timberwolves dictated the tempo for much of the first half, overwhelming Dallas with their pace and shot-making.
The Mavericks refused to go away, however, mounting a fourth-quarter push and trimming the deficit to just three, 101-98, with 9:11 remaining. But every time Dallas threatened, Minnesota had an answer.
Edwards provided the spark, converting an and-one play to stretch the lead back to seven and restore breathing room. Then, with the Wolves holding a slim six-point edge in the final minute, the All-Star guard buried a cold-blooded mid-range jumper to extend the margin to eight and effectively seal the game.

Edwards finished with a game-high 40 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists, spearheading Minnesota’s offense. Rudy Gobert dominated the paint with a double-double of 22 points and 17 rebounds, anchoring the interior on both ends.
