It was Jema Galanza’s turn late in the fifth with three consecutive hits that pushed the lead to 13-8. Brooke Van Sickle scored back-to-back, but Galanza and Pons closed out the win against the core of the Petro Gazz Angels, who dethroned them in last year’s All-Filipino finals.

Galanza, also a former league MVP, finished with 19 points from 18 kills and an ace on top of 10 excellent receptions and six digs. Pons had 18 points and 13 digs, while Carlos had 16 points and 13 digs.
Setter Jia De Guzman ran Creamline’s offense with 28 excellent sets to take a share of the lead with PLDT, holding identical 5-1 records.

Middle blocker Pangs Panaga had six kill blocks for 13 points, while Bea De Leon added nine.
Nxled’s woes continued with its fourth straight defeat, sliding to 3-4 despite Van Sickle’s 28-point explosion.
The three-time league MVP had 24 kills, three blocks, and an ace. Myla Pablo had 22 points including seven blocks, while MJ Phillips added 12.
