When Duane "Kelra" Pillas chose to transfer from ONIC Philippines to ONIC Esports, it marked one of the most notable cross-region moves in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang offseason.

But for ONIC PH head coach Jeniel "Haze" Bataanon, there are no hard feelings.

Haze made it clear he respects Kelra’s decision, viewing the opportunity in Indonesia as a significant step forward for the gold laner’s career.

“Parang ‘di ko naman siya tinignan na ganun eh, ‘yung pagkuha. Kasi opportunity din kasi ng players ‘yun. Hindi ko mamasamain kung ano ‘yung mga naging desiyon nila,” said Haze, who took over from Anthony “Ynot” Senedrin.

More than just competitive growth, Haze acknowledged the practical side of the move — better livelihood and added stability for Kelra and his family.

In a fast-moving esports landscape, Haze believes players must seize opportunities that secure both their professional and personal futures.

“Kung tingin niya dun siya mag-go-grow, why not. Change kasi part din ng growth,” he added.

Rather than dwell on the void left by their longtime gold laner, Haze views the shift as a fresh challenge.

Stepping into Kelra’s former spot is Clayton "Savero" Kuswanto, who makes the move from ONIC Esports to reinforce the Filipino squad for the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 17.

“Kaya ‘yung change sa amin, growth din ‘yun para sa amin. Ganun ‘yung POV, kasi pangit kapag titignan natin ‘yung bagay na… kailangan maging optimistic lang kami. ‘Yung brighter side lang lagi.”
