Neil “Midnight” De Guzman is taking his talents abroad once again, signing on as the new head coach of Aurora Gaming for the MTC Turkiye Championship.
“Let’s welcome Midnight as the new coach of Aurora Gaming, guiding our team from a different realm towards a new dawn of victory,” said the team in a Facebook post last Thursday.
Midnight, a staple of the MPL Philippines broadcast as an analyst, is regarded as one of the most respected minds in the local scene and brings with him extensive coaching experience both locally and abroad across different divisions.
His most recent stint saw him coach North American squad Gaimin Gladiators to a Cinderella runner-up finish in the MLBB Women’s Invitational 2025, where they were swept by Indonesia’s Team Vitality in the grand finals.
Over the past few years, Midnight has also had coaching stints with The Valley, Cloud9, Reignfall, and Blood Thirsty Kings, while continuing to serve as part of the MPL PH’s’ broadcast talent roster.
His first major break came with Nexplay EVOS, which he helped steer to a fourth-place finish—the franchise’s highest placement before it disbanded after MPL Philippines Season 11.
Midnight will be joining an Aurora Gaming squad that was coming off a surprising 5th-6th place finish in the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia.
