This comes after the Philippine Esports Federation (PeSO) opted to hit the reset button on the qualifiers following recent roster changes in Team Liquid PH and ONIC PH, which are part of the original pool along with Twisted Minds and amateur squad Rough World Era.
The initial four squads will headline the pool, with ONIC PH retaining Duane “Kelra” Pillas despite his recent transfer to ONIC Esports, while Team Liquid PH will field Dave Viana in place of Kiel “Oheb” Soriano in the gold lane.
Other MPL PH teams who have joined the qualifiers are Omega Esports, TNC Pro Team, AP.Bren, and Team Falcons.
The lone team from the country’s premier ML:BB league that opted not to participate in the qualifiers is Aurora Gaming.
Meanwhile, amateur squads which have enlisted are Aurora Hunters, Rock Prime, FEU Tamaraws Esports, Big Boys, Eclipse Sonata PH, Team Liquid Academy PH, Uno A.R.N., Team Falcons Academy, Pylon SJ Ataraxia, Arc Vanquish, Dewa United PH, ONIC Uprising, and Atral Lionfare-Orion.
Vren Esports is the lone female squad in the 22-team qualifiers.
The head coach of the winning squad will earn the right to call the shots for the SIBOL Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team in the Asian Games in Japan, and will be backed by a coaching staff composed of Francis Glindro, Michael Bocadia, and Denver Miranda.
