Another star has left San Beda University as Jomel Puno announced that he will be entering a new phase in his college career.

A two-time champion during his time in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) men’s basketball tournament from Seasons 99 to 101, the 6-foot-5 Puno has opted to forgo his final year of eligibility to pursue other ventures.

“It’s time for me to challenge myself and take the next step by competing in new environments, which will be announced in the future,” the Filipino-Canadian said.

Puno, 24, will no longer have playing years left should he transfer to another school in either the NCAA or the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), as he would already be overage by the time he completes his residency.

The 6-foot-6 athletic forward, if he stays in the Philippines, could play in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), with the annual Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Draft not happening until 2027.
