There will be no Alex Eala vs. Iga Swiatek rematch at the 2026 Miami Open. Magda Linette spoiled those plans, beating Swiatek in an upset in three sets on Friday (PH time) to arrange a third-round clash with the Filipina star.

Linette came from behind to record a stunning 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory over the No. 2 seed Swiatek in a match that lasted two hours and 10 minutes.

Linette will next face Eala, who had earlier survived a tough test against Laura Siegemund in the second round. Eala also battled back from a set down before recording a thrilling 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-3 win against the German.
