Cooper Flagg lived up to the hype in his rookie season with the Dallas Mavericks, making history in the process after a spectacular 2025-26 campaign. He joined Michael Jordan as the only rookies since the 1973-74 season to lead their team in total points, rebounds, assists and steals.
Flagg finished his rookie year with 1,473 points, 466 rebounds, 316 assists, and 84 steals, leading all Dallas players in those departments. His efforts went for naught, though, as the Mavs finished 12th in the Western Conference with a 26-56 record.
Jordan made waves in his rookie year with the Chicago Bulls, amassing 2,313 points, 534 rebounds, 481 assists, and 196 steals in the 1984-85 season.
