Team Falcons PH continued to keep pressure on top-ranked Team Liquid, scoring a tight 2-0 sweep over hapless TNC in the MPL Philippines Season 17 regular season on Friday at the Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City.

The former MPL PH champions extended their winning streak to four games to improve to a 5-1 record and strengthen their hold on second place, while still trailing league-leading Team Liquid, which remains unbeaten at 6-0.

Stephen “Super Marco” Requitiano starred in Team Falcons’ 11-9 Game 1 win in 20 minutes, finishing with five kills and two assists on the Granger while also accounting for a bulk of the damage with 71,556 dealt.

Super Marco continued to deliver in Game 2 as they gutted out a 16-10 victory in nearly 20 minutes to complete the sweep and secure sweep.

For TNC, the defeat marked its third straight loss, dropping them to a 1-5 record as they remain at the bottom of the standings.

Meanwhile, ONIC PH remained in third place with a dominant 2-0 over Omega Esports.

Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez took charge in their lopsided 19-6 Game 1 win in 11 minutes, before Borris “Brusko” Parro spearheaded a 16-4 Game 2 triumph that lasted for 19 minutes.

Super Frince lorded with Zhuxin in the opener with nine kills and eight assists, while Brusko on the Kalea tallied 14 assists and one kill against three deaths in Game Two as ONIC PH closed the series en route to a 4-2 record.

Onega Esports, meanwhile, is tied with TNC at the last spot with a 1-5 slate.
