AP Bren finally found a way out of its slump, digging deep to survive TNC in a tense 2-1 escape that snapped its six-game losing streak and kept its playoff hopes alive in the MPL Philippines Season 17, Sunday at the Victoria Sports Tower.

After splitting the first two games, AP Bren held its nerve in the deciding match, regrouping when it mattered most to clinch the series and improve its record to 3-6, pulling level with Twisted Minds at the sixth spot.

Jan Carl “Shizou” Valdez took center stage in Game 3, delivering a flawless performance with four kills and six assists without a single death as AP Bren closed out a commanding 15-5 win in 15 minutes and 34 seconds, putting the finishing touch on their series-clinching victory.

Denniel “Nova_” Gomez helped AP Bren grab the opener after setting up their 15-4 win with a steady Kaja showing. He tallied a game-high 10 assists to go along with one kill, before TNC leaned on Frediemar “3Mar” Serafico’s Uranus to tie the series.

Meanwhile, TNC slid to eighth place with a 2-7 record.

In the nightcap, Team Falcons PH closed in on a spot in the playoffs after taking down ONIC PH, 2-1.

The victory also stretched Team Falcons’ winning streak to six straight games, improving its record to 7-1 and tightening its grip on second place in the standings.

Team Falcons came out firing with a dominant 10-1 Game 1 win, but ONIC PH showed resistance and kept the fight alive deep into the 16-minute mark before finally buckling under the pressure.

Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson took charge in the opener with five kills and three assists on Suyou.

After dropping Game 2, KyleTzy once again imposed his will in Game 3, delivering a commanding Guinivere performance as his timely initiations helped Team Falcons seize control and carve out an emphatic 10-1 win in just under 11 minutes.

ONIC PH remained at the third spot with a 5-4 record despite the loss.
