The Houston Rockets entered the halftime break with a 56-47 lead over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 of their first-round series in the 2026 Western Conference Playoffs on Monday (PH time) at Toyota Center.
Needing a victory to avoid elimination, the Rockets came out firing in the opening quarter, building a 26-21 advantage after the first 12 minutes of play.

The Rockets extended their lead to double digits early in the second quarter before the Lakers unleashed a 10-3 run to cut the deficit to three points.
Houston finished the half strong, though, ending the second quarter on a 15-9 run to grab a 9-point advantage heading into the break.
Alperen Sengun led the Rockets with 14 points. Amen Thompson and Reed Sheppard added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Deandre Ayton paced the Lakers with 15 points and 8 rebounds. LeBron James added 8 points on 1-of-4 shooting from the field. He made all six of his free-throw attempts.
