The Los Angeles Lakers could be without Luka Dončić at the start of the Conference Semifinals if they advance, according to Shams Charania.
Speaking on a program, Charania noted that Dončić is expected to miss the opening games of the next round, with a potential return targeted around Games 3 or 4. Meanwhile, Austin Reaves is expected to suit up for tonight’s game barring any setback during warmups.
Dončić has reportedly ramped up his on-court movement but has yet to begin one-on-one work, leaving his exact timeline uncertain.
The Lakers are currently up 3-2 against the Houston Rockets and are pushing to close out the series and set up a matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Before his injury, Dončić was putting together a dominant season, averaging 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists to claim the scoring title, while Reaves added 23.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.
