Alex Eala's first-round clash with Magdalena Frech in the 2026 Italian Open will head into a decider after the Polish star won the second set 6-3 on Wednesday at Foro Italico.
Frech bounced back strongly after she got bageled by Eala in the first set, racing to a 3-0 lead in the second set.
Eala responded by winning the next two games to cut the deficit to 2-3. Frech had the last laugh, though, winning three of the next four games to take the second set in 43 minutes.
