The San Antonio Spurs entered the halftime break with a commanding 59-35 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals series on Thursday (PH time) at Frost Bank Center.
The Spurs got off to a fast start, building a 24-17 lead after the first quarter. De'Aaron Fox, who went scoreless in the first half of Game 1, led the charge during that period with 9 points on 3-of-6 shooting.

San Antonio then pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Minnesota 35-18 during that stretch to grab a 24-point advantage at the half.
Victor Wembanyama and Fox powered the Spurs' offense with 14 points apiece in the first two quarters. Stephon Castle was another starter who scored in double figures with 12 markers.

Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle each scored 8 points for the Wolves, who struggled mightily from deep in the first half of Game 2. Minnesota shot just 2-for-15 from the 3-point area.
The Wolves currently hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
