The Milwaukee Bucks have officially opened the door to trade discussions involving two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to Shams Charania.
Charania wrote on X: "The Milwaukee Bucks are open for business on trade calls and offers for two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo entering the NBA combine and over six weeks away from the draft."
Later, Charania added on the program: "They're going to do their best to work with Giannis over the next several weeks. There's going to be a bunch of teams. Miami, Golden State, Lakers, Timberwolves, Cavaliers — a bunch of teams in the playoffs right now. We'll see over the next six weeks."
This season, Antetokounmpo has been at the center of trade rumors, and late in the season, tensions with the front office reportedly surfaced.
Sources indicated that the Bucks engaged in trade discussions involving Giannis as early as February. Bucks stakeholder Jimmy Haslam recently stated that the team expects to reach a resolution by draft day.
As one of the NBA's premier stars, Antetokounmpo continues to put up elite numbers. This season, he appeared in 36 games for the Bucks, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.
