Team Falcons PH booted out TNC, 2-0, to clinch the last upper bracket slot in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 17, Friday at the Victoria Sports Tower.
Now standing at 11–2, Team Falcons has an opportunity to snatch the No. 1 seed from league-leading Team Liquid PH (12–1), depending on the outcome of their final regular-season matches and how results unfold down the stretch.
Stephen “Super Marco” Requitiano had a steady performance on Claude in Game 1, finishing with four kills and seven assists without a single death to lead his side to a 15-6 victory in less than 15 minutes.
He then followed it up with another clean showing on Moskov, as he rallied Team Falcons to a quick 16-8 Game 2 win in 13 minutes and 42 seconds to secure the important victory. He finished with five kills and four assists against one death.
On the other hand, TNC—who dropped their fifth consecutive loss to fall to 2-11—crashed out of contention.
In the second match, ONIC PH escaped the surging Omega Esports, 2-1, to secure the third seed with a 9-4 record.
Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez delivered big in Game 1, finishing with five kills and eight assists on Gord as the former world champs ran away with a lopsided 13-2 victory in 15 minutes of action.
However, Omega Esports bounced back and survived a 16-minute encounter in Game 2 behind Dean “Raizen” Sumagui’s Fanny to equalize the series. Raizen had six kills and four assists against five deaths but came through in the clutch to secure the win.
ONIC PH then rediscovered its form, putting on a dominant 20-5 output in Game 3 to seal the hard-fought win in under 15 minutes. Borris “Brusko” Parro starred on Chou with 14 assists.
Omega Esports remained at the fourth spot with a 6-7 slate.
