Carl Jammes Martin stamped his class and stopped Carlo Demecillo in the third round of their bout scheduled for 12 at the Philippine Marine Corps in Fort Santiago, Taguig City on Saturday.
The world-rated Martin lived up to the billing and drilled in a wicked right to the body of Demecillo, who immediately kneeled on the canvas after the shot.
The Cebuano fighter grimaced in pain as he tried to get back up only for the referee to formally stop the fight.
With the win, Martin improved to a 28-0 record with 22 knockouts while dropped to a 19-13-2 slate.
Needing a fight to keep him busy while waiting for a potential shot at a title-eliminator, Martin just proved he is more than just ready for a bigger fight in the international stage.
