Rolando Dy lived up to the billing and stopped former pro-boxer and two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi in the second round to retain his Bare Knuckle Boxing (BKB) super welterweight crown at the AO Arena in Manchester early Sunday.
Dy, son of Filipino and former boxing world champion Rolando Navarrete, unloaded an explosive combination that landed flush on the chin of Malignaggi who immediately went down at the 2:52 mark of the second round.
The veteran Italian-American fighter managed to get back up but Dy, smelling blood on the water, went for a relentless assault.

The Filipino bare knuckle fighter then once again caught Malignaggi clean with a booming right to the chin, sending him down to the canvas the second time.
Malignaggi, however, did not have enough power in his legs to stand up as the referee stopped the fight with two minutes left in the round.
With the win, Dy solidified his reign in BKB, hiking his record to a 6-1 slate while Malignaggi, who retired from pro-boxing in 2017 but made his way to bare knuckle boxing, dropped to a 1-2 slate.
