Thunder forward Jalen Williams has been cleared to play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, according to Shams Charania.
Williams suffered his injury on April 23 during the Thunder's playoff series against the Phoenix Suns and has been sidelined ever since with a hamstring strain. According to earlier reports, he was diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain — a mild injury that causes pain but does not affect walking. The initial recovery timeline was estimated at 7-14 days. He has now rested for 25 days.
As a key perimeter scorer for the Thunder, Williams averaged 17.1 points, 5.5 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game during the regular season in 28.4 minutes. In the first two games against the Suns before his injury, he was on fire, averaging 20.5 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal in 26 minutes while shooting an astonishing 61.5% from the field. His return is undoubtedly a massive boost for the Thunder.
