The Cleveland Cavaliers headed into the halftime break with a 48-46 lead over the New York Knicks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday (PH time) at Madison Square Garden.
The Cavs used a second-quarter surge to take control at the half, unleashing a 21-8 run to turn a 27-38 deficit into a two-point advantage.
Donovan Mitchell scored 16 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer in the closing stages of the second quarter. James Harden added 7 points.
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, for the Knicks, who had a 23-16 lead after the first quarter.
