The Oklahoma City Thunder entered the halftime break with a 69-58 lead over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday (PH time) at Paycom Center.
The Thunder pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Spurs 40-31 to turn a slim 29-27 advantage into a double-digit lead at the half.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for OKC, scoring 19 points and issuing 3 assists. Alex Caruso scored 14 points off the bench, while Chet Holmgren came alive in Game 5 with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Julian Champagnie finally had his breakout moment in this series, leading all Spurs scorers with 17 points in the first half. Stephon Castle added 12 points for the Spurs.
Victor Wembanyama scored 11 points on 2-of-6 shooting. Devin Vassell also struggled in Game 5, going scoreless in the first half.
