The San Antonio Spurs got off to a great start in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, building a 35-22 lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder after the first quarter of their critical playoff clash.
The Spurs need a victory to avoid elimination and they showed some sense of urgency right from tip-off. They opened the contest with a 9-2 run and finished the quarter on a 21-9 blast to open up a double-digit advantage.
The Spurs were red-hot from deep, going 8-for-14 from beyond the arc. The Thunder, on the other hand, went just 1-of-6 from 3-point range.
Victor Wembanyama led the way for San Antonio with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander paced OKC's offense with 6 points.
