The Oklahoma City Thunder suffered a major blow ahead of Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals as they ruled out star player Jalen Williams for the series decider.
Basketball insider Shams Charania broke the news on his X account, writing: Oklahoma City Thunder's Jalen Williams has been ruled out for Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs."
Williams returned to OKC's lineup for Game 6 after missing Games 3, 4, and 5 because of a hamstring injury but was largely ineffective against the Spurs.
He played just 10 minutes in OKC's 118-91 loss, recording one point and one assist while committing two turnovers.
The Thunder has been shorthanded in this series as apart from Williams' absence, they have also missed the services of Ajay Mitchell due to a calf injury he suffered in Game 3 of the West Finals.
The winner-take-all contest between the Thunder and the Spurs will take place on Sunday (PH time) at Paycom Center, with the victor set to face the New York Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals.
