A spot in the 2026 NBA Finals will be at stake on Sunday morning (PH time) when Oklahoma City and San Antonio square off in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals at Paycom Center.
All eyes will be on superstars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama as they look to lead their respective teams to the best-of-seven championship series against the New York Knicks.
Gilgeous-Alexander has faced this kind of elimination game before, having played in Game 7 of the NBA Finals last year against the Indiana Pacers.
SGA powered OKC in that winner-take-all contest, scoring 29 points and issuing 12 assists to lead the Thunder to their first-ever NBA title.
Gilgeous-Alexander has been the Thunder's main man in the West Finals, averaging 24.3 points and 8.8 assists through the first six games.
With Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell both out injured in Game 7, the onus is on SGA to carry the scoring load for OKC against San Antonio.
Standing in his way from a return trip to the Finals is Wemby, who will be making his first-ever appearance in a Game 7 in the NBA Playoffs.
The Frenchman has been unstoppable in the West Finals, averaging 28.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals through six games against OKC.
The Spurs will need their star big man to be firing on all cylinders in Game 7 for them to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals.
