For Team Liquid PH, the road to a historic Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 17 three-peat was anything but smooth.

The organization entered the season carrying heavy expectations as reigning champions, but the offseason brought major changes that tested their stability early. Gold laner Kiel “OHEB” Soriano left the squad, a move that sparked conversation across the scene given his stature and impact on the team’s previous title runs.

To fill the void, the team brought in Indonesian import Sultan “AeronnShikii” Muhammad.

However, his stint never fully materialized in the opening weeks due to requirement issues, forcing another adjustment as Team Liquid PH turned to Dave “Teddy” Viana to stabilize the gold lane.

Teddy eventually delivered beyond expectations, emerging as a key piece in the team’s resurgence.

Despite the turbulence, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno remained at the center of the team’s identity.

As the most decorated player in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang history, he once again found himself under scrutiny—though this time, much of the criticism was directed at the team’s reshuffled lineup and uncertain chemistry rather than any single individual.

But instead of letting the outside noise fracture their focus, Team Liquid PH leaned into it.

“I used it as fuel, those bashers. When I get fired up, I get even more motivated, I put more effort into practice like that. I want to prove that people are wrong,” KarlTzy said, describing how the criticism became fuel during their preparation.

The response was emphatic. Team Liquid PH stormed through the regular season with a 13-1 record, securing the top seed and re-establishing themselves as the team to beat heading into the playoffs.

From there, they elevated their level even further. The squad completed a dominant playoff run, sweeping through the bracket before capping their campaign with a statement victory over ONIC PH in the grand finals to secure a historic third straight MPL Philippines championship.

“The run we had was really great also because of the bashers. So thank you to you because we got here because of your bashing,” KarlTzy added, framing the criticism not as a setback, but as part of the journey that fueled their championship run.

In the end, what began as a season clouded by roster uncertainty and outside doubt ended in dominance. For KarlTzy and Team Liquid PH, the noise never disappeared—but it was exactly what helped push them to greatness.
