The San Antonio Spurs entered the halftime break with a 42-37 lead over the New York Knicks in Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Sunday (PH time) at Frost Bank Center.
Just like in the past games of this championship series, the Spurs threatened to pull away in the first half, with San Antonio racing to a 33-18 lead with 6:41 remaining in the second quarter.
There's no quit with the Knicks, who once again came roaring back before the halftime interval. New York unleashed a 19-9 run to finish the second quarter as the Knicks entered the break down by just five points.
Victor Wembanyama contributed on both ends of the floor, racking up 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks in the first half.
Jalen Brunson scored 16 points for the Knicks, who are one win away from capturing their first NBA championship since 1973.
