The New York Knicks advanced to the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs after demolishing the Atlanta Hawks, 140-89, on Friday morning (PH time) at State Farm Arena.
The outcome was all but decided by halftime, as New York unleashed a historic opening half, racing to an 83-36 lead—the largest halftime margin in NBA playoff history. The Knicks’ advantage ballooned to as much as 61 points.

Tensions flared late in the second quarter when Mitchell Robinson and Dyson Daniels got entangled, sparking a scuffle that spilled into the front row. Both players were ejected after review.
New York fell just short of the all-time playoff blowout record, still held by the Denver Nuggets (121-63 vs. the New Orleans Hornets in 2009) and the Minneapolis Lakers (133-75 vs. the St. Louis Hawks in 1956).

OG Anunoby led the charge with 29 points and seven rebounds, while Mikal Bridges added 24 points and five boards. Jalen Brunson chipped in 17, Josh Hart had 14, and Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.
With the series wrapped up, the Knicks will face the winner of the Boston Celtics-Philadelphia 76ers matchup in the next round.
