Eala got off to a strong start, recording a bagel in the opening set. Frech battled back, though, winning nine of the next 13 games to take control of the contest.
There is no quit with Eala, who won five of the last six games in the third set to set up a second-round clash with Chinese star Xinyu Wang on Friday.
