Alex Eala to enter Strasbourg Open as final tune-up event for Roland Garros image

Alex Eala will use the Strasbourg Open as her final tune-up tournament before heading to Paris to compete at Roland Garros.

The Filipina tennis star has been officially added to the qualifying draw of the WTA 500 event, which will take place from May 17 to 23.

Eala exceeded expectations with her recent campaign at the Italian Open, reaching the third round of a WTA 1000 clay event for the first time in her career.

She gave World No. 2 Elena Rybakina a run for her money in the Round of 32 before losing 4-6, 3-6 at BNP Paribas Arena in Rome.
