Alex Eala will look to capture her second career WTA 125 title on Sunday, when she takes on Nikola Bartunkova in the final of the 2026 Birmingham Open on Centre Court at Edgbaston Priory Club.
The match will start at 6:30 p.m. tonight, with Eala seeking to win her first-ever grass court title. Her previous WTA 125 championship came last September at the Guadalajara Open, which was played on hard court.
Eala dug deep to punch her ticket to the championship showdown, beating Rebeka Masarova in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. The Filipina tennis star overcame several rain delays to claim the victory in one hour and 52 minutes.
Bartunkova, on the other hand, advanced to the final after ousting Ashlyn Krueger in the semis 6-4, 7-6 (7).
This will be the first meeting between Eala and Bartunkova on the WTA Tour. Interestingly, they played doubles together in this year's Birmingham Open, with Eala and Bartunkova losing in the first round to Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden earlier this week.
